Eating Out

It’s an ever-changing feast, and great food is taking Cornwall by storm. You couldn’t avoid knowing of Rick Stein and Jamie Oliver up in the north of the county, but here’s some of our favourites within a few miles of Tregiffian.

Within an hour’s walk

The Beach Café at Sennen has amazing views and I’ve spent whole days there in winter, though it’s packed out in summer. Prices not for the faint hearted!

St Just offers cafes and great fish and chips, all the pubs offer dinners too. Veg and cheese pasty at Warrens is good.

The Cook Book Café is a quirky place for a light meal, and dinner on some evenings.

The Keg and Teg does a good lunch too.

The two local pubs – The Old Success and The First and Last do good, if expensive, beer and pub grub.

A drive away

The Gurnard’s Head on the St Ives road is pretty good. It’s great to park there, walk across the fields to Zenor, have a swift pint n the Tinners before walking back on the much harder, but beautiful cliff path. Then have dinner in the restaurant.

Both St Ives and Penzance have lots to offer.
